
Tata Power Renewables has launched its Centre for Renewable Energy Analytics, Monitoring & Scheduling (CREAMS) at the company's Trombay plant on August 20, highlighting a facility that is among the most advanced centralised renewable energy monitoring hubs in the country. The state-of-the-art centre serves as Tata Power Renewables' integrated digital command centre, providing real-time monitoring, analytics, forecasting, scheduling and performance optimisation of renewable energy assets spread across multiple states. As reported by The Times of India, the facility offers a unified view of the company's solar and wind energy portfolio, enabling operators to track performance round the clock and take corrective measures whenever required.
The CREAMS facility operates through a robust digital infrastructure, providing 24x7 surveillance and operational support for renewable assets, reflecting the growing role of technology and data-driven decision-making in India's clean energy transition. The centralised platform has been designed to maximise power generation, improve asset reliability, ensure regulatory compliance and reduce operational losses. The centre's advanced capabilities demonstrate how technology integration is transforming renewable energy operations and management across India's expanding clean energy sector.
Tata Power and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) have signed a Master Research Agreement (MRA) to jointly accelerate the development, scaling and commercialization of next-generation energy technologies and clean energy solutions. According to reports from The Times of India, the agreement was signed at the IIT Bombay campus by Tata Power CEO and Managing Director Dr Praveer Sinha and Prof. Shrikrishna V. Kulkarni, Dean (Research & Development), IIT Bombay, in the presence of IIT Bombay Director Prof. Shireesh Kedare. The collaboration aims to combine IIT Bombay's research capabilities with Tata Power's industry expertise to develop scalable solutions in multiple key areas including smart grids, power electronics, energy storage, electric mobility, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence for power systems, digital grid technologies, carbon capture and the circular economy.
According to The Times of India, the initiative is expected to support India's clean energy transition, strengthen energy security and contribute to sustainable development goals. Dr Sinha stated that the collaboration would help develop future-ready energy technologies by combining cutting-edge research with large-scale implementation expertise. The partnership represents a significant step in advancing India's clean energy infrastructure and technological capabilities in the energy sector, with the latest CREAMS launch demonstrating practical implementation of advanced monitoring and analytics capabilities.
