Suzlon Energy Ltd. secured its first 200 MW wind energy order from Ayana Renewable Power Ltd., marking a significant milestone for the company. According to the latest official press release from Suzlon Energy Limited, this represents Suzlon's third DevCo-led wind order across two states - Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh. The order win has strategically positioned the company's flagship S144 3 MW platform sales past the 10 GW mark, demonstrating strong market acceptance of the platform and reinforcing Suzlon's recovery as an undisputed market leader in India's wind-first renewable energy transition. As per Business Standard, a DevCo-led order is an integrated development model where a renewable energy supplier provides end-to-end project execution from early-stage site development to complete construction.
The project involves 64 S144 turbines each with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW, totaling 200 MW of installed capacity. As reported in the official press release, the project will be executed through Suzlon's comprehensive EPC offering, which will handle turbine supply, land acquisition, balance of plant, pooling substation, extra high voltage line, commissioning and operations & maintenance services. The project will be located in Limbawas, Madhya Pradesh, with power generation connected to the MPPCL state grid. This marks Ayana Renewable Power's maiden wind assets in Madhya Pradesh, expanding their geographical footprint beyond their current 5.5 GW renewable energy portfolio across wind, solar and hybrid assets. According to Live Mint, shares of Suzlon Energy recovered from intraday lows to trade little changed at ₹45.59 on Tuesday following the order announcement, though the stock remains down 13% year-to-date.
Despite recent market pressure, technical experts remain optimistic about Suzlon's prospects. Mahesh M Ojha, VP — Research & Business Development at KC Securities, expects a trend reversal on the technical chart, provided supports at ₹38 remain sacrosanct. He noted that on the upside, the Suzlon share price faces a hurdle at ₹46, and on breaking above ₹46 on a decisive basis, the stock may test the ₹54 level in the near term. Anuj Gupta, SEBI-registered market analyst, expects a bounce back as the company maintains strong support in the ₹40 to ₹38 range and has smooth and healthy order flow. The rapid rise of the S144 platform from 9 GW to over 10 GW in just over three months shows that the 3 MW+ segment has become the default standard for Indian utility-scale installations, enabling developers to maximize yields in medium and low wind regimes.
Suzlon's stock performance reflects broader market dynamics affecting renewable energy stocks. According to Live Mint, Suzlon's share price has fallen from ₹47.50 to ₹43.90 apiece on the NSE in the last one month, with the stock remaining under pressure for the last two months. In the last six months, Suzlon's share price has risen by around 5.50%, but in the YTD, it has delivered zero returns, logging an over 16% dip. The company's market capitalization stood at ₹62,377.47 crore as of September 4, 2026, with the share price closing at ₹45.38. The addition of Madhya Pradesh as a major node opens a vast geographical runway for both developers and wind turbine OEMs, helping diversify execution risks away from overcrowded hubs in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu, while the growing backlog of high-margin EPC contracts provides structural revenue visibility.
