STL Networks shares hit the 5% upper circuit limit on Wednesday, trading at ₹51.93 per share on the NSE after the company emerged as the lowest bidder for a ₹250 crore contract floated by RailTel Corporation of India. According to the company's regulatory filing dated September 29, STL Networks emerged as the L1 bidder for the domestic cloud infrastructure project. The contract involves design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, configuration, integration, migration, and deployment of cloud infrastructure solution at RailTel data center and disaster recovery site. The broad consideration or size of the order is ₹250 crore inclusive of taxes and the order is awarded by a domestic entity. As per Bonanza Research Analyst Balaji Rao Mudili, this represents a contract that is bigger than the revenue STL Networks normally earns in a whole quarter, with the order worth 142% of the company's Q1 FY27 revenue of ₹176.15 crore.
As reported by The Economic Times, the execution time period for the order is not mentioned in the exchange filing but is detailed in the bid document by RailTel Corporation of India. The company confirmed that no promoter/promoter group/group companies have any interest in the entity that awarded the order and the order would not fall within related party transactions. This compliance ensures the contract is awarded through fair and transparent processes. The development comes as a business update for STL Networks, with the company securing the L1 position for a sizeable cloud infrastructure project, though the disclosure specifically describes STL Networks as the L1 bidder rather than stating that the final contract has been awarded.
According to reports from The Economic Times, on September 15, the company proposed the incorporation of a wholly owned subsidiary with the primary objective to establish, acquire, own, operate, manage and market data centre & telecommunication infrastructure, data centre solutions and connectivity services. The subsidiary plans to obtain and maintain all requisite licences, approvals and authorisations from the Department of Telecommunications and other regulatory authorities. The company aims to provide integrated data centre and connectivity solutions with focus on operational flexibility, scalability and growth in the digital infrastructure and telecommunications sector.
The stock has rallied close to 74% in the past year and is currently trading with a market cap of ₹2,529.38 crore. The stock opened at ₹51.82 today, gaining around 5% at the market open, while the benchmark Nifty 50 gained only 0.1% to trade at the 22,741.9 level. The strong market response reflects investor confidence in the company's ability to secure significant infrastructure contracts and expand its presence in the data center and connectivity sector. Technical analysts note that price is trading well above key EMAs with strong volume support, while RSI remains in the bullish zone, though some consolidation or profit booking may occur after the recent sharp rise.
