
Star Paper Mills reported a standalone net loss of ₹1.29 crore in the quarter ended March 2026, marking a significant reversal from the net profit of ₹5.01 crore recorded in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. According to reports from Business Standard, the company's sales declined 1.31% to ₹112.59 crore in Q4 FY26 compared to ₹114.09 crore in Q4 FY25. The operational performance also deteriorated with operating profit margin (OPM) declining to 3.95% from 8.94% in the previous year quarter.
For the full financial year ended March 2026, Star Paper Mills experienced a net profit decline of 20.4% to ₹3,275.34 lakh compared to ₹4,114.45 lakh in the previous year. As reported by Business Standard, annual sales also decreased 6.05% to ₹409.94 crore from ₹436.34 crore in FY25. The company's profit before tax (PBT) declined 36% to ₹3,422.77 lakh in FY26 from ₹5,344.31 lakh in the previous year, while profit before depreciation and tax (PBDT) fell 31% to ₹41.20 crore. The basic earnings per share (EPS) for FY26 stood at ₹20.98 compared to ₹26.36 in the previous year.
The company's operating profit margin (OPM) for the full year declined to 4.51% from 8.45% in the previous year, indicating significant operational challenges. According to the financial data reported by Business Standard, the decline in profitability was accompanied by reduced sales volumes across both quarterly and annual periods. The net profit margin for FY26 stood at 7.98% compared to 9.44% in the previous year, reflecting the company's operational pressures during the reporting period. The total income for FY26 was ₹43,358.08 lakh, a decrease from ₹46,027.42 lakh in the previous year, while total expenses stood at ₹39,935.31 lakh compared to ₹40,683.11 lakh in FY25.
The Board of Directors approved the audited financial results and appointed M/s. PKMB & Co., Chartered Accountants as the Internal Auditor for the financial year 2026-27. Additionally, the board appointed M/s K.B. Saxena & Associates, Cost Accountants as the Cost Auditors for FY27, subject to ratification of remuneration by shareholders. The remuneration for the cost auditor is fixed at ₹0.50 lakh plus tax and out-of-pocket expenses. The board also recommended a final dividend of ₹2.50 per equity share of ₹10 each, amounting to ₹390.21 lakh, pending shareholder approval at the ensuing Annual General Meeting.
