Satin Finserv has launched the 'Sankalp by Satin Finserv: The Climate Edition' - a national initiative aimed at identifying and supporting students and early-stage startups building solutions to climate and environmental challenges. According to reports from The Hindu BusinessLine, the initiative offers a total prize pool of over ₹30 lakh and will bring together young innovators, entrepreneurs, industry experts, investors, and mentors to help promising climate ideas move from concept to real-world application.
The first edition will invite solutions across clean energy, water management, waste management, sustainable agriculture, green mobility, sustainable cities, circular economy and climate technology, along with other emerging areas of climate innovation. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, Sankalp will have two participation tracks - a student track and a startup track. The student track is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students from recognised educational institutions across India and offers prize money of ₹10 lakh.
The student track offers prize money distribution of ₹5 lakh for the winning team, ₹3 lakh for the first runner-up, and ₹2 lakh for the second runner-up. According to The Hindu BusinessLine, students can participate individually or in teams of up to four members and can enter with an idea or an early-stage prototype. Participation in Sankalp is free of charge, and applications close on October 4.
The Startup Track is open to DPIIT-recognised startups and offers ₹22 lakh in prize money. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, the winner will receive ₹10 lakh, while the first and second runner-up will get ₹7 lakh and ₹5 lakh respectively. Eligible startups must have a solution at or beyond the working prototype, MVP or early-commercialisation stage.
Pramod Marar, MD & CEO of Satin Finserv, stated that there are emerging innovators and entrepreneurs across the country with strong ideas, but what often determines whether those ideas progress is access to the right guidance, networks, capital and opportunities. According to The Hindu BusinessLine, Satin Finserv is building its presence in sustainable financing, and through this initiative it wants to go a step further by identifying promising ideas early and supporting them with mentorship and stakeholder access.
