Microfinance lender Satin Creditcare Network Ltd has approved a significant fundraising initiative, with its board of directors sanctioning a proposal to raise ₹5,000 crore through the issuance of non-convertible debentures (NCDs) on a private placement basis. According to reports from CNBC TV18, the NCD issuance will be undertaken in one or more tranches within a period of one year from the date of shareholders' approval, with the fundraising made to eligible investors subject to approval at the upcoming annual general meeting (AGM). The company has maintained its guidance of 15-20% assets under management (AUM) growth for the current financial year and expects net interest margins (NIMs) to remain stable. The fundraise plan underscores Satin Creditcare's strategy to diversify its debt profile and tap a broad set of eligible investors, which could enhance its financial flexibility in a competitive NBFC landscape.
Alongside the fundraising approval, Satin Creditcare also approved the re-appointment of Vikas Gupta as Chief Compliance Officer and Senior Management Personnel for a further term of three years, effective July 11, 2026, to July 10, 2029. As reported by CNBC TV18, the company's 36th annual general meeting will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, to be held via video conferencing and other audio-visual means, reinforcing governance continuity and stakeholder engagement. The specific terms including the size of each tranche, tenure, coupon or interest rate, payment schedule, security or charge on assets, and other terms will be decided by the company's Working Committee of the Board at the time of finalisation of each tranche.
Last week, Satin Creditcare Network Chairman and Managing Director HP Singh expressed optimism about the company's growth trajectory, stating he expects it to remain intact this year despite concerns over delayed monsoons, El Niño conditions and geopolitical uncertainties. According to Singh's statements reported by CNBC TV18, the lender continues to see stable collection efficiency and disbursement trends across its operations, with the first quarter shaping up as one of the better periods in recent years. Addressing concerns around delayed rainfall and its impact on rural borrowers, Singh said the company has not observed any meaningful stress in its operating regions so far, with record wheat production helping support rural incomes despite uncertainty around the upcoming kharif season.
Shares of Satin Creditcare Network Ltd ended at ₹233.00, down by ₹2.95, or 1.25%, on the BSE, as reported by CNBC TV18. Singh believes any potential impact from weather-related disruptions is likely to be limited, and the company's exposure to rural markets provides a direct view of economic conditions. Current trends remain encouraging across microfinance, affordable housing and MSME lending businesses, with Singh noting that Satin Creditcare's operations continue to show stable performance despite external challenges. The virtual AGM format reflects ongoing adoption of digital channels for shareholder communication and corporate decision-making.
