Royal Enfield achieved its highest-ever monthly sales of 1,33,958 motorcycles in September 2026, registering an 8% year-on-year growth and beating market estimates. According to Eicher Motors Limited's sales data, this milestone comes as the motorcycle brand enters the festive period with positive customer sentiment and a strong booking pipeline. B. Govindarajan, managing director of Eicher Motors Ltd. and CEO of Royal Enfield, highlighted that the company had achieved its highest-ever monthly dispatches in September 2026 while scaling up production, inventory and channel readiness ahead of the festive season.
The company marked a decade of the Himalayan brand with the launch of the Himalayan 440 earlier this month, featuring an upgraded 443cc long-stroke engine and new six-speed gearbox. As reported by NDTV Profit, the Himalayan 440 is fully booked for six months, with the company witnessing overwhelming response from the community that exceeded expectations. Additionally, Royal Enfield introduced the 2026 Classic 350 Signature White with premium features including brown touring seats, USB Type-C fast charging and Tripper Pod as standard. Models with engine capacity of up to 350cc, including EVs, recorded sales of 1,21,495 units in September, up 13% year-on-year from 1,07,478 units. For the first six months of FY27, volumes were up 24% to 6,34,312 units.
Royal Enfield's electric mobility brand Flying Flea reached a key milestone in September with the Flying Flea C6 entering Europe and the UK, launching across five major cities including Paris, Barcelona, Rome, Berlin and London. According to NDTV Profit, deliveries are scheduled to begin by October 2026 with the electric motorcycle available in three colourways and supported by dedicated service infrastructure. The company also conducted its first-ever Moto Mongolia ride with riders travelling through the country's adventure landscapes on the Himalayan 450.
While September showed an export recovery with 17% growth to 12,632 units, exports for the April-September period remain 5% lower year on year at 67,075 units versus 70,421 units. Domestic motorcycle sales increased 7% to 1,21,326 units compared with 1,13,573 units in September 2025. However, the above-350cc category experienced a 26% decline, highlighting challenges in the premium segment. The newly launched Himalayan 440 could potentially help strengthen the company's higher-capacity motorcycle portfolio over coming months, addressing this segment weakness.
