According to latest exchange filings, Reliance Retail delivered exceptional performance in Q4 FY26, achieving record quarterly revenue of ₹98,232 crore, marking a 10.8% year-on-year increase. This represents the highest-ever quarterly revenue for the retail arm of Reliance Industries Ltd, demonstrating sustained growth momentum across the company's diversified retail portfolio. As per Mint, net profit for the March quarter stood at ₹3,563 crore, up 0.5% year-on-year, indicating steady profitability despite competitive pressures in the retail sector.
EBITDA reached ₹6,921 crore for the quarter, representing a 3.1% year-on-year increase, while margins came in at 7.9% for the quarter, down 60 basis points from the previous year. According to Mint, this margin compression reflects the competitive dynamics in the retail sector, though the company maintained positive EBITDA growth. The sequential improvement from the previous quarter's 7% margin suggests operational efficiency gains, even as year-over-year comparisons show some pressure from increased investment in growth initiatives.
The hyper-local commerce segment demonstrated exceptional performance with hyper-local commerce average daily orders rising 29% quarter-on-quarter and over 300% year-on-year, as reported by Mint. Hyper-local commerce orders grew more than fourfold year-on-year, reflecting the expansion of India's delivery network and strong consumer demand. The business added 333 new stores during the quarter, maintaining a total store count of 20,160 stores with an operational area of 78.3 million square feet. Total transactions increased 62% year-on-year to 585 million, while the registered customer base reached 387 million, positioning the business among the country's largest retail networks.
According to Mint, the jewellery business reported 53% year-on-year growth in average bill value, driven by rising gold prices, demonstrating strong performance in the premium segment. Ajio Luxe recorded 24% year-on-year growth in the March quarter, while Ajio Rush expanded its four-hour delivery service to more than 600 cities. The fashion and lifestyle segment continues to benefit from the company's omnichannel strategy and strong brand portfolio across multiple categories.
As reported by Mint, shares of Reliance Industries ended lower on Friday, April 24, by 1.16% at ₹1,327.80 on the NSE, despite the positive retail performance. Research analysts note that while revenue beat expectations, margin performance remains a key concern for investors. Chairman Mukesh D. Ambani expressed confidence in the company's omnichannel presence and consumer understanding, stating that these factors will continue to underpin sustained growth. The company has announced a dividend of ₹6 per share for FY26, demonstrating confidence in its financial performance and commitment to shareholder returns.
