
According to data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) on Wednesday, Punjab emerged as the top performer in passenger vehicle sales growth during FY26. The state recorded 181,750 units sold in FY26, representing a 16.29 per cent year-on-year increase compared to FY25. This performance positions Punjab as the state with the sharpest rise in passenger vehicle sales across India during the fiscal year.
In the two-wheeler category, Gujarat secured the leading position in volume sales growth during FY26. The coastal state recorded 1.569 million units in two-wheeler sales during FY26, demonstrating a sharp increase of 21.57 per cent year-on-year. This significant growth rate in the two-wheeler segment reinforces Gujarat's position as a key automotive market in India.
The SIAM data reveals contrasting performance patterns across different automotive segments and states during FY26.
