
Shares of Premier Energies rose on Tuesday, extending gains for the second consecutive trading session, according to reports from NDTV Profit. The stock climbed as much as 3.05% during intraday trade to ₹1,015 apiece. At 9:49 a.m., the shares were trading 2.03% higher, compared with a 0.09% gain in the Nifty. With a market capitalisation of ₹44,264 crore, the shares were trading at ₹977.15 per share, jumping 3% in today's market session, making a high of ₹1,005.10, up from its previous close of ₹975.50 per share.
Around 2.15 crore shares of Premier Energies were traded through multiple block deals on Monday, May 25, with the shares changing hands at ₹955 per share, taking the total transaction value to about ₹2,055.6 crore, representing nearly 4.7% of the company's total equity. While the official identities of buyers and sellers were not disclosed, sources indicate that a promoter entity is likely the seller, whereas the buying interest reportedly came from Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) and mutual funds, suggesting strong institutional participation in the large transaction.
Data available on the NSE on Monday showed that promoters of Premier Energies sold nearly 2.4 crore shares at an average price of ₹955 apiece through block and bulk deals, as reported by NDTV Profit. The transactions drew interest from domestic mutual funds, insurance firms and foreign institutional investors. The promoter holding in the company stands at 63.94%, while FII stake increased from 4.48% in Q3 FY26 to 5.72% in Q4 FY26, and DII holdings also rose from 12.72% to 13.69% during the same period.
Among the key buyers, Quant Mutual Fund acquired 40.84 lakh shares, while Nomura India Investment Fund Mother Fund purchased 25 lakh shares at ₹955 apiece, according to NDTV Profit. Smallcap World Fund Inc bought 24.45 lakh shares, Edelweiss Mutual Fund acquired 20.94 lakh shares, and The Beekeeper Capital purchased 14.66 lakh shares at the same price. Other notable buyers included Canara Robeco Mutual Fund (14.14 lakh shares), SBI Life Insurance Company (13.09 lakh shares), and Tata Mutual Fund (13.09 lakh shares).
For Q4FY26, Premier Energies demonstrated robust financial performance with sales growing to ₹2,230 crore from ₹1,621 crore, representing a 38% year-on-year growth. EBITDA increased to ₹675 crore from ₹528 crore, marking a 28% growth, while net profit saw a sharp rise of 64% to ₹457 crore. Earnings per share (EPS) also grew significantly by 64% to ₹10.08, compared to ₹6.16 in the previous year, showcasing strong earnings momentum and scalable business performance. The company specializes in manufacturing integrated solar cells and solar panels, with a product portfolio including solar cells, solar modules, monofacial and bifacial modules, as well as EPC and O&M solutions.
