
State-owned Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd has secured two significant transmission projects under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process. The company received the Letter of Intent (LoI) on July 9, 2026, for the project titled 'Augmentation at Bhadla-III, Ramgarh PS and Kanpur (PG)' and July 10, 2026, for the 'Transmission System for integration of Krishnagiri REZ Phase-I' project. Both projects will be developed on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis and demonstrate the company's strong competitive position in India's transmission infrastructure sector. The latest order comes days after Power Grid was declared the successful bidder for the Bhadla-III project, further strengthening its project pipeline.
The Krishnagiri REZ Phase-I project involves the establishment of two new 765/400kV substations in Andhra Pradesh and construction of 765kV and 400kV transmission lines traversing Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka, along with associated bays. According to CNBC TV18, this project represents a significant expansion of Power Grid's renewable energy transmission capabilities, positioning the company to support India's growing renewable energy sector. Power Grid Corporation of India reported a 9.7% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit for Q4FY26, reaching ₹4,546.3 crore, which beat the CNBC-TV18 poll estimate of ₹4,451 crore. As reported by CNBC TV18, net profit stood at ₹4,143 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. However, revenue from operations declined 5% year-on-year to ₹11,666 crore from ₹12,275 crore and came in below the poll estimate of ₹12,859 crore. EBITDA fell 11.3% to ₹9,066 crore against ₹10,224 crore a year ago, missing the poll estimate of ₹10,901 crore, with EBITDA margin narrowing to 77.7% from 83% in the year-ago quarter.
