
NBCC (India) has secured five work orders worth ₹134.27 crore (excluding GST) from multiple government entities, demonstrating the company's diversified project portfolio. According to the latest exchange filing on Thursday, August 27, the orders include three Kendriya Vidyalaya campuses in Jharkhand and Bihar worth ₹110.58 crore, with the largest project being Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 3 at AIIMS Darbhanga in Bihar valued at ₹37.02 crore. The company also secured a ₹11.14 crore contract from Odisha's Directorate of Teacher Education and SCERT for a Centre of Excellence at Bargarh, and a ₹12.55 crore contract from Canara Bank for a bank building in Alappuzha, Kerala. All five contracts are domestic project-management consultancy assignments secured in the ordinary course of business.
In a significant strategic development, NBCC has formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NHPC for the execution of infrastructure projects on a pan-India basis. The MoU was formalised on August 28, 2026, at NHPC's corporate office in Faridabad, providing a structured framework for cooperation between the two Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprises. Under the agreement, NBCC will provide Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services and undertake specific NHPC infrastructure projects covering design, engineering, project management, procurement, construction, quality control, installation, commissioning, and statutory compliances, along with handing over of completed projects. The collaboration will primarily focus on buildings, structures and allied works, including residential blocks, residential and commercial infrastructure, office complexes and related facilities, aimed at supporting cost-effective and time-efficient execution while maintaining required quality standards.
The company's financial results for Q1 FY27 showed mixed performance indicators. As reported by Business Standard, NBCC's consolidated net profit increased 17.18% to ₹154.83 crore in Q1 FY27 compared to ₹132.13 crore in Q1 FY26. However, sales revenue declined 5.51% to ₹2,259.53 crore in Q1 FY27 from ₹2,391.19 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The company operates across three major segments: project management consultancy, real estate, and engineering procurement & construction.
Despite securing significant new orders and the strategic NHPC partnership, NBCC's stock performance showed mixed signals with shares closing 0.73% lower at ₹87.50 on the NSE on Friday, August 28. According to CNBC TV18, the stock is currently trading 29.13% below its 52-week high of ₹125.85 and 15.72% above its 52-week low of ₹77.18. The announcement of the NHPC MoU was made after market hours on Friday, contributing to the negative opening. The stock has lost more than 1% in the past week and 7% over the month, while on a year-to-date basis, it has declined 28%. NBCC has a total market capitalisation of ₹23,625 crore as of August 28, 2026, according to NSE data.
