Milky Mist Dairy Food has exceeded its own revenue growth estimates for FY26, achieving 34% top line growth against its projected 33% growth. According to K. Rathnam, CEO and Whole-time Director, the company has delivered strong performance across its diversified product portfolio including ice creams, beverages, paneer, cheese and other value-added dairy categories. The company's standout performance came from its emerging protein offerings, with 100% growth in protein categories compared to the previous year.
The dairy value-added company obtained SEBI approval for its ₹2,035 crore IPO in October 2025, with the offer comprising a fresh issue of ₹1,785 crore and an offer for sale of ₹250 crore by promoter shareholders. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, Rathnam confirmed that the IPO remains on track and the company is evaluating the right market conditions for listing. The SEBI approval expires in October 2025, providing a clear timeline for the public offering.
An early and intense summer season has boosted demand for ice creams and beverages, with growth rates exceeding the previous summer period. However, the company faces margin pressure from 15-20% increase in packaging material costs, which may impact bottom-line performance. According to Rathnam, there is growing demand for high-protein products including Greek yogurt, high-protein paneer and high-protein cheddar, reflecting changing consumer preferences in the dairy segment.
The company's existing manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu has significant capacity expansion potential, capable of generating three to four times the current revenue based on current operations. Milky Mist recently signed an investment MoU with the Maharashtra government and has taken possession of a land parcel at Baramati, with the facility currently in planning stage. The company derives 25-30% of revenue from non-South regions, making decentralized manufacturing operations strategically important for market expansion.
Quick commerce has emerged as a significant growth channel for Milky Mist, now contributing 10% of total revenue for the company. As reported by Rathnam, quick commerce has evolved beyond hype to become a fundamental part of India's retail landscape, with the channel demonstrating sustained performance and growth potential in the dairy segment.
