In an exchange filing, MIC Electronics announced it has received its first order post product approval under the PAPIS (Public Address and Passenger Information System) category from Railway Coach Factory, Kapurthala, New Delhi. As reported by ET Now, this marks the commencement of commercial supplies for this product category. The company had previously announced on December 23, 2024, the approval of CCA (capacity cum capability assessment) for GPS Location based Public Address & Passenger Information System (PAPIS). This represents a significant milestone for the company as it enters the commercial phase of its railway equipment manufacturing capabilities, with the current order valued at ₹114 crore expected to contribute substantially to business operations.
In Q3 FY26, MIC Electronics reported a net profit of ₹18.7 million on consolidated basis, which was 14% lower than the ₹21.6 million profit posted in the same quarter of the last fiscal year. However, as reported by ET Now, the company's revenue from operations jumped manifold to ₹902.2 million in the quarter, representing a substantial increase from ₹117.4 million recorded in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Despite the impressive revenue expansion, the company's EBITDA stood at ₹39.6 million with the EBITDA margin contracting sharply to 4.40% from 29.31% in the year-over-year comparison. This significant margin compression indicates higher operational costs relative to the revenue growth achieved during the quarter.
MIC Electronics is a constituent of BSE Industrials index and is engaged in designing, development, and manufacturing of light-emitting diode (LED) video displays and lighting products. According to ET Now, the company mainly serves Indian Railways. This inaugural order establishes MIC Electronics as an active supplier to Railway Coach Factory, Kapurthala, and represents the company's formal entry into the railway communication systems market.
