
K2 InfraGen Ltd has secured a significant road infrastructure contract worth ₹390.91 crore from the Government of Telangana, as announced by the Gurugram-based company. The contract covers construction, upgradation, strengthening and maintenance of selected roads under the Panchayat Raj Engineering Department (PRED) in the Bhongir Circle. According to reports from The Hindu BusinessLine, the project falls under the Telangana Rural Roads Development Programme on Hybrid Annuity Mode — Phase I, Package No. 2.
The contract value represents more than four times the company's current market capitalisation of approximately ₹84.86 crore. However, the stock performance showed mixed reactions with shares slipping 2.24 per cent to ₹67.50 on the NSE SME Emerge platform. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, the trading pattern showed 86.27 per cent of traded quantity on the sell side against 13.73 per cent on the buy side, with traded volume at 0.26 lakh shares and a traded value of ₹0.17 crore.
Under the Hybrid Annuity Mode structure, the project requires K2 Infra to form a Special Purpose Vehicle and complete agreement formalities within a defined timeline before execution begins. According to the company announcement, the contract adds to K2 Infra's existing portfolio spanning roads, power and railway infrastructure. The company listed on the NSE SME Emerge platform in April 2024 and currently trades at a price-to-earnings ratio of 6.49.
Managing Director Pankaj Sharma stated that the project would support access to markets, education, healthcare and economic opportunities for communities in the Bhongir Circle region. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, the Bhongir Circle falls in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district of Telangana, with improved rural road connectivity expected to benefit farmers, local businesses and essential service providers in the area.
