Indian Hume Pipe Company delivered mixed financial results for the quarter ended June 2026, with net profit rising 7.1% to ₹235.69 lakh compared to ₹219.19 lakh in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. However, the company faced revenue headwinds as operating revenue declined 1.5% to ₹3028.05 lakh from ₹3074.30 lakh in Q1 FY2026, according to the company's unaudited financial results approved by the Board of Directors on August 12, 2026. The construction segment remained the primary revenue driver, accounting for all ₹3028.05 lakh in operating revenue with segment profit before tax and finance costs of ₹426.27 lakh, up from ₹410.13 lakh in Q1FY26.
The company's operating profit margin (OPM) compressed to 9.83% in Q1 FY2027 from 10.97% in the same quarter last year, indicating some pressure on operational efficiency. Despite the margin decline, profit before tax increased 8.5% to ₹315.52 lakh from ₹290.74 lakh year-on-year, while net profit grew 7.1% to ₹235.69 lakh from ₹219.20 lakh in the corresponding quarter of FY2026. Total expenses decreased to ₹2882.25 lakh from ₹2902.27 lakh in the prior year quarter, contributing to the improved pre-tax performance.
The quarterly results demonstrate the company's ability to maintain profitability growth despite challenging market conditions. Other income rose significantly by 42.9% to ₹169.72 lakh, contributing approximately 5.3% to total revenue and helping offset the slight decline in core operating revenue. Total assets expanded to ₹28347.16 lakh as of June 30, 2026, from ₹26963.03 lakh a year earlier, with construction segment assets growing to ₹22067.87 lakh. The real estate segment recorded a loss of ₹5.36 lakh compared to no activity in the previous year quarter, while finance costs declined to ₹105.38 lakh from ₹119.38 lakh in the prior year.
