Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) achieved its highest-ever total monthly sales of 82,299 units in October 2026, representing a 17.7 per cent year-on-year increase. According to the company's official filing with the NSE on 1 November 2026, this milestone marks a significant achievement for the automaker in the Indian market and represents the highest-ever monthly volume since inception since the company commenced operations in India. The achievement highlights Hyundai's strong performance and market presence in the automotive sector, with analysts suggesting this growth could set new benchmarks for the industry moving forward.
The record performance was primarily driven by strong domestic sales of 62,799 units, achieving a 16.7 per cent rise compared to the same period last year. As reported in the company's official filing, this domestic growth demonstrates the company's continued strength in the Indian market despite challenging conditions, with the Hyundai VENUE recording its highest-ever domestic monthly sales of 13,017 units in October 2026, making it the top-performing model for the month. The strong domestic performance reflects the company's robust market position and consumer demand across various segments.
Export sales contributed significantly with 19,500 units, marking a 21.1 per cent growth compared to October 2025. According to the official filing, this export performance reflects the company's expanding international presence and manufacturing capabilities, with HMIL exporting vehicles to more than 50 countries from its manufacturing plant in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. The company is headquartered in Gurugram, Haryana, and markets a portfolio including the CRETA, VENUE, VERNA, TUCSON, and IONIQ 5.
Despite the record sales achievement, Hyundai Motor India's net profit declined 23.9% to ₹1,196 crore in Q2 FY27 compared to ₹1,572 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. However, revenue grew 18.5% to ₹20,696 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, from ₹17,460 crore in the same period previous year. EBITDA fell 18.7% to ₹1,974 crore with margins contracting to 9.5% from 13.9% year-on-year. The mixed financial performance reflects the challenging operating environment despite strong sales momentum.
