Home First Finance Company India's promoter entities Aether (Mauritius) Limited and True North Fund V LLP executed significant stake sales worth ₹660 crore through bulk deals on Thursday. According to reports from The Economic Times, Aether sold stakes worth ₹326 crore while True North Fund sold ₹334 crore in separate transactions. The buyers included French multinational bank Societe Generale and PICTET - Indian Equities, with Societe Generale purchasing over 8.4 lakh shares valued at ₹100 crore and PICTET acquiring 17.97 lakh shares worth ₹214 crore.
The bulk deal announcement triggered a sharp decline in Home First Finance shares, which closed at ₹1,176.25, down nearly 6% from Wednesday's closing price. As reported by The Economic Times, Aether sold a total of 27.38 lakh shares in multiple tranches at a price of ₹1,190 per share, while True North Fund sold over 28 lakh shares in two tranches at the same price. The stock's decline occurred despite the company's strong recent performance metrics and market outperformance over the past year.
According to the report, True North Fund held over 77.37 lakh shares representing 7.45% stake as of December 31, 2025, while Aether's equity amounted to nearly 51 lakh shares representing 4.90% stake. The promoter entities' combined stake sale represents a significant reduction in their holdings in the smallcap NBFC, which offers home loans and has a market capitalisation of ₹12,259 crore.
Despite the stake sale, Home First Finance has demonstrated robust financial performance with a net profit of ₹140 crore in the December-ended quarter, recording 44% growth over the profit after tax of ₹97 crore in the year-ago period. As reported by The Economic Times, the company's total revenue in the quarter stood at ₹484 crore, representing 19% growth over ₹407 crore in the corresponding quarter of the last financial year. The stock has delivered 33% returns over a one-year period, outperforming benchmarks Nifty and BSE Sensex whose returns were 13% and 10% respectively over the same period.
