
HDFC Mutual Fund has acquired an additional 10 lakh shares of Global Health from co-founder Sunil Sachdeva for ₹130 crore through open market transactions. According to block deal data from BSE, the shares were purchased at an average price of ₹1,300 per share, representing a 0.37% stake in the healthcare company. This acquisition follows HDFC MF's previous purchase of 10 lakh shares from Sachdeva last month for over ₹122 crore.
Sunil Sachdeva, co-founder of Medanta Hospitals, offloaded the shares at the same price of ₹1,300 per share. As reported by BSE data, at the end of the March quarter, Sachdeva owned 2.90 crore equity shares or a 10.79% stake in Global Health. The transaction represents a significant reduction in his ownership position in the healthcare chain.
Shares of Global Health closed at ₹1,311.35 per share on the BSE, declining 0.41% following the transaction announcement. The stock movement reflects investor reaction to the significant stake reduction by the co-founder while maintaining the company's strong operational performance.
Global Health reported impressive financial performance for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2026. According to company data, the healthcare chain posted a 39.7% increase in profit after tax to ₹141.7 crore compared to ₹101.4 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. Revenue from operations grew significantly to ₹1,159 crore against ₹931.3 crore in the year-ago period, demonstrating robust business growth across the healthcare operations.
