HBL Engineering has secured a significant order worth ₹1,714 crore from Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) for the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of On-board KAVACH Loco equipment (Version 4.0). According to the company's exchange filing, HBL Engineering received a letter of acceptance from CLW, with project execution expected to be completed within 12 months. The company has clarified that neither its promoters nor promoter group entities have any interest in the awarding authority, and the contract does not fall under related-party transactions.
HBL Engineering reported strong financial results for Q4 FY26, with consolidated net profit rising 41.8% to ₹63.75 crore compared to the same period in the previous year. Revenue from operations increased 27.0% to ₹604.12 crore in Q4 FY26 over Q4 FY25. The company, formerly known as HBL Power Systems, manufactures various types of batteries including lead acid, NiCad, silver zinc, lithium, and railway & defence electronics.
Following the announcement of the major contract win, HBL Engineering's stock price rose 2.30% to ₹817.50 on the BSE. The positive market response reflects investor confidence in the company's ability to secure large-scale orders in the railway and defence electronics sector.
