Hariyana Ship Breakers delivered remarkable financial performance in the quarter ended June 2026, with standalone net profit surging 544% to ₹441.15 lakh compared to ₹68.32 lakh in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. According to the company's latest unaudited financial results approved by the Board of Directors on August 12, 2026, this dramatic increase represents one of the most significant profit growth rates reported in the shipping industry during recent quarters. The consolidated net profit reached ₹441.54 lakh, aided by associate earnings, compared to ₹68.32 lakh in Q1FY25. The company reported profit before exceptional items and tax of ₹495.01 lakh for standalone operations, with total expenses of ₹56.63 lakh, resulting in a profit after tax of ₹441.15 lakh.
The company reported zero sales for both standalone and consolidated figures for the quarter ended June 2026, consistent with the previous quarter and year. As reported in the latest financial results, total income for the standalone entity was ₹551.64 lakh, comprising solely of other income, compared to ₹217.10 lakh in Q1FY25. Revenue from operations remained at nil for both standalone and consolidated figures, indicating that the financial performance was entirely driven by non-operating income rather than core ship-breaking operations. Total expenses were minimal at ₹56.63 lakh, primarily consisting of employee benefits (₹6.86 lakh), depreciation (₹16.03 lakh), and other expenses (₹33.20 lakh). On a consolidated basis, the company reported total income of ₹235.91 lakh with expenses of ₹56.63 lakh, resulting in a consolidated profit after tax of ₹133.31 lakh.
The consolidated results showed significant contributions from associates, with ₹308.23 lakh share of profit from associates compared to a loss of ₹14.93 lakh in the same period last year. The associates contributing to this income include Goyal Hariyana Realty, Orchid Lakeview Developers, Whitefield Projects, and Swastik Developers. The subsidiary Hariyana Air Products contributed ₹7.90 lakh to the consolidated profit. This stark divergence between zero operational revenue and high profitability highlights the company's current reliance on non-operating assets and investments, with 90.46% of total assets tied up in capital contributions to partnership firms and subsidiaries totaling ₹145.08 crore as on June 30, 2026.
Despite the strong financial performance, the company remains without active business operations, with management currently exploring suitable opportunities to recommence activities. The auditor's report highlighted several emphasis of matters, including an unreturned advance of ₹1.21 crore from a failed FY2017-18 joint venture and recoverability concerns regarding ₹126.21 crore in loans granted by partnership firms to other corporates. However, the auditors concluded that based on their review, nothing came to their attention that would cause them to believe the financial statements contain material misstatements, despite the mentioned emphasis of matters and the current non-operational status. Management is actively evaluating market conditions and exploring suitable business opportunities with the aim of recommencing business activities.
