GPT Infraprojects Limited's wholly-owned subsidiary, Alcon Builders and Engineers Private Limited, has secured a significant railway signalling contract worth ₹134.11 crore, including GST, from the Chief Signal and Telecommunication Engineer, Western Railway, Ratlam Division. According to the company's stock exchange filing, the order, valued at ₹113.65 crore excluding GST, covers comprehensive signalling infrastructure across multiple railway sections. The filing, signed by Joint Managing Director and CFO Atul Tantia, confirms that Alcon Builders received the contract from CSTE, Western Railway, Ratlam Division, with no promoter or promoter group interest disclosed and no related-party transaction involved.
The contract encompasses the survey, design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 4-Aspect Automatic Block Signalling with electronic interlocking and dual multi-section digital axle counters at auto huts, along with associated alterations to electronic interlocking at stations. The work spans double-line sections between Nagda-Ujjain-Tajpur, Phanda-Sant Hirdaram Nagar, Ujjain-Karchha, and Mangliyagaon-Indore under the Ratlam division of Western Railway. As reported by CNBC TV18, the project is scheduled for execution within 548 days from the appointed date, with the order classified as a domestic order with no related-party interest disclosed.
With this latest contract win, GPT Infraprojects' net outstanding order book stands at ₹5,651 crore, with total order inflow for fiscal 2027 at ₹1,478 crore. The company operates through two segments — infrastructure and sleeper — and is engaged in civil and infrastructure projects, including bridges, road-over-bridges and railway signalling works, besides manufacturing concrete sleepers for railways in India and Africa through units in West Bengal, South Africa, Namibia and Ghana. This announcement follows an earlier L1 intimation filed on 1 October 2026, with the order won through the wholly owned subsidiary Alcon Builders, keeping revenue recognition within the consolidated entity.
The stock of GPT Infraprojects ended nearly a percent in the green following the announcement. According to CNBC TV18, the shares have jumped 15% in the year so far, reflecting positive market sentiment toward the company's railway infrastructure capabilities and order book expansion. The 548-day execution window links order conversion to revenue recognition spread across future reporting periods, which the disclosed order book figures reflect in aggregate but individual contract timelines may vary.
