According to reports from Mint, the stock's year-to-date gains stand at 62% compared to an 8% decline in the Sensex benchmark. The stock hit a 52-week high of ₹946.70 on April 16 and reached an intraday high of ₹900.25 on April 20, representing a 127% increase from its 52-week low of ₹397.30 recorded on May 9, 2025. The Gorakhpur-headquartered company operates across diverse sectors including steel and cement manufacturing, power generation, and real estate.
As reported by Mint, the company shared its Q4FY26 and FY26 business performance details on April 6, demonstrating robust growth across key metrics. Power production increased 14% year-on-year in Q4FY26 and rose 6% for the entire financial year 2026. Pellet production jumped 59% YoY in Q4 and increased 37% for the full year. Sponge production saw an impressive 38% YoY rise in Q4FY26 and grew 21% YoY for FY26. Steel production grew 9% YoY in Q4 and 3% YoY for FY26, while steel sales rose 9% YoY in Q4 and 3% YoY for FY26.
According to Mint reports, both BSE and NSE sought clarification from the company regarding the sharp rise in stock prices in an exchange filing on April 18. Gallantt Ispat responded that the price and volume movement is purely market-driven and may be a combination of various factors, including market conditions. The stock's long-term performance has been exceptional, with three-year returns of 1,284% and five-year returns of 1,715%. Despite these impressive gains, the company's two-year returns of 244% significantly outperformed the Sensex's 8% rise over the same period.
As reported by Mint, technical analysts have expressed caution about the stock's recent momentum. Aditya Thukral from AT Research highlighted that the stock has broken out of a consolidation range of ₹800-₹500 after eight months with unusual volume expansion. However, the 14-day RSI is in overbought territory at 76 levels, indicating potential exhaustion. Jigar S. Patel from Anand Rathi noted that momentum indicators are heavily overbought, suggesting the stock may be entering an exhaustion phase. Immediate support is placed at ₹811 while resistance stands at ₹948, with analysts recommending caution and maintaining ₹800 as strict stop losses for long positions.
