According to Jefferies, the biggest positive was operating profit growth, with EBITDA jumping 79% to ₹244 crore compared with ₹136 crore in Q1FY26. The rise in value growth was supported by elevated copper prices, which led Finolex Cables to implement price hikes in May 2026.

In the communication cables segment, revenue jumped 62% YoY to ₹176.47 crore against ₹108.84 crore, while segment profit from communication cables rose to ₹52.52 crore from ₹1.30 crore in Q1 FY26, aided by higher optic fibre cable volumes and better realisations. As reported by The Economic Times, the strong Q1 performance has triggered a sharp reaction in Finolex Cables shares, with the stock touching a 52-week high of ₹1,307.05 in the latest session. The company had a market capitalisation of around ₹19,976.94 crore as of August 12, 2026, according to NSE data. Jefferies highlighted that the growth was driven by multiple price hikes in the last 12 months in the flagship Cables & Wires division, with the biggest turnaround in operating profitability coming from the Communication Cables division due to higher demand and better selling prices for Optical Fibre Cables. The brokerage expects benefits of backward integration to reflect in margins and profit by the third quarter of the current fiscal year, referring to cost-saving strategies including manufacturing own raw materials. The company's fibre draw expansion remains on track, with the new 4 million fiber-km capacity expected to be operational by Q3 FY27. The strong Q1 performance positions Finolex Cables well within the cables & wires industry, which expanded at a compound annual growth rate of 12.5% over FY22-26 to ₹1.0 trillion, with organized players delivering robust growth of 17% over the same period.
