
According to reports from The Hindu BusinessLine, Eveready Industries India Ltd delivered robust financial results for the quarter ended March 31, 2026. The company reported a 9.4% rise in consolidated revenue at ₹327.2 crore compared to ₹299.0 crore in the same quarter last year, marking the sixth consecutive quarter of revenue growth. For the full financial year FY26, consolidated revenue grew 8.2% to ₹1,455.4 crore from ₹1,344.5 crore in FY25. The growth was driven by favourable momentum in batteries, with alkaline battery revenues surging 82% in Q4 FY26, and double-digit growth in the lighting segment at 17%. As per the company's leadership, FY26 marked a year of steady operational progress, led by sustained momentum in the batteries business, improving mix in flashlights, and recovery in lighting segment.
As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, the company's profitability showed significant improvement with profit after tax for Q4 FY26 standing at ₹141.8 crore, sharply higher than ₹10.4 crore in Q4 FY25. However, this includes an exceptional income of ₹102.7 crore from the transfer of leasehold rights for its Noida plant. For the full year, PAT came in at ₹171.5 crore against ₹82.4 crore in FY25, with net exceptional gains of ₹48.6 crore embedded in the figure. Stripping out exceptional items, profit before exceptional items and tax for FY26 was ₹118.3 crore, up 20.1% year-on-year. EBITDA for the quarter rose 10.7% to ₹28.7 crore, with margins at 8.8%, supported by improved realisations and disciplined cost management despite input cost pressures.

The company demonstrated strong operational efficiency by reducing net debt by over ₹100 crore during the year, bringing closing net debt to ₹178 crore. As per Executive Director & Chief Financial Officer Bibek Agarwala, calibrated pricing actions, strong cost governance supported by effective forex hedging and manufacturing footprint efficiencies helped mitigate cost headwinds. The company continued to progress on its debt reduction journey with a further reduction of 100+ crore in debt in the current fiscal.
As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, the headline strategic development was the commissioning of a roughly ₹200 crore alkaline battery manufacturing facility at Bari Brahmana, Jammu — positioned as India's only operational alkaline battery plant. The facility has a peak capacity of 360 million units and was inaugurated on April 22 by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. CEO Anirban Banerjee highlighted that the commissioning is a key strategic milestone, enhancing manufacturing scale and enabling greater efficiencies, while supporting the ambition of delivering premium, reliable, high-performance power solutions. The alkaline segment has steadily approached 20% share and the company maintains a leading position of over 52% in the dry cell battery segment.
According to the report, batteries remained the dominant business at 67% of Q4 revenue, growing 8.6% year-on-year, with alkaline batteries driving significant growth. Lighting emerged as the fastest-growing segment, up 17% in Q4, while flashlights grew a modest 3.3%. The company's stock closed at ₹333.00 on NSE on Thursday, up 1.88%, with a market capitalisation of approximately ₹2,420 crore. As per the company's leadership, the alkaline facility will strengthen presence in the premium battery segment and reduce reliance on imports, supporting deeper penetration and market share gains amid evolving consumer demand.
