According to reports from The Hindu BusinessLine, Easy Trip Planners Limited disclosed on Wednesday that its airport ancillary services have recorded double-digit growth, driven by rising demand for duty-free shopping and Meet & Greet assistance among Indian travellers. The online travel platform's strategic focus on these premium services is yielding positive results as the company expands its service offerings beyond traditional ticket booking. As per EaseMyTrip, these evolving consumer preferences are reflected in double-digit growth in airport services adoption, with travellers increasingly prioritising efficiency, convenience, and overall journey productivity. The company has unveiled key consumer insights highlighting how Indian travellers are moving beyond bookings to a more holistic travel experience.
As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, among users availing the duty-free service, nearly 60 per cent purchased liquor, 30 per cent opted for perfumes, and the remaining 10 per cent chose chocolates and other items. The duty-free offering, built in partnership with Adani Digital Labs, allows international travellers to browse and purchase products online up to 30 days before departure and as late as one hour before departure across seven airports including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Amritsar, Mangaluru, and Thiruvananthapuram. This service enables a smooth and queue-free airport experience for international travellers seeking premium and gifting categories.
According to The Hindu BusinessLine, on the Meet & Greet front, Delhi leads adoption among metro cities, followed by Mumbai and Bengaluru. While senior citizens remain a core user base, the company noted rising uptake among the 25–30 age group, signalling a shift toward premium, experience-led travel preferences. As per EaseMyTrip, this demographic shift reflects a generational shift toward seamless, premium and experience-led travel among younger travellers. The early cohort trends show increasing adoption among 25-30 years old travellers, indicating evolving traveler expectations for enhanced services beyond basic transportation.
As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, founder Nishant Pitti stated that the trends reflect a broader behavioural change where travellers prioritise convenience and time efficiency beyond just booking tickets. According to EaseMyTrip, travel today is no longer just about bookings but about the overall journey experience. The company plans to integrate AI-led conversational tools to further streamline travel planning, with focus on bringing every relevant service into a single, seamless journey. These services are part of a wider strategy to build a comprehensive, full-stack travel ecosystem encompassing visa assistance, travel insurance, airport services, and curated travel experiences.
According to The Hindu BusinessLine, the stock trades at ₹7.96 on NSE, up 2.18 per cent intraday, though the scrip remains under significant long-term pressure — down roughly 34 per cent over the past year and over 91 per cent across five years against a Nifty 50 gain of nearly 64 per cent in the same period. As per Crisil Report-Assessment of the OTA Industry in India (Feb 2021), EaseMyTrip is one of India's largest online travel-tech platforms in terms of air ticket bookings. The company's total market capitalisation stands at approximately ₹2,891 crore as of the reporting date.
