
According to bulk deal data on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), Bollywood actor Amitabh Harivansh Rai Bachchan was a net seller of 1,23,622 shares worth ₹2.48 crore in steel wires and plastic pipes manufacturer DP Wires. The transaction involved selling 1.23 lakh shares at ₹200.84 per share representing approximately 0.79% stake. Interestingly, the data also showed that Bachchan had simultaneously bought 41,566 shares at ₹199.90 per share, amounting to ₹83.09 lakh, though the identities of other buyers in the transaction were not disclosed.
The stock demonstrated strong market response, rising as much as 4.79% to ₹213.49 following the transaction, according to Business Standard reports. This represents a significant gain from the previous trading levels and builds on the stock's momentum from the last three trading sessions. The stock has advanced 21 percent during this period, suggesting sustained positive market sentiment following the mixed buy-sell activity from the marquee investor.
According to the company's shareholding pattern for March 2026, Bachchan held a 2.11% stake, or 3.27 lakh shares, in DP Wires prior to this transaction. Following the latest deal, his stake has been reduced to approximately 1.32% of the company. The mixed buy-sell activity from a marquee investor like Bachchan is likely to keep the stock in focus in the near term, even as broader market sentiment remains the key driver of price movement.
On the financial front, the company reported a 132.43% year-on-year increase in standalone net profit to ₹9.39 crore for Q4 FY26, compared with ₹4.04 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, as per Business Standard reports. However, revenue from operations declined 6.28% to ₹129.02 crore during the period. The company engages in manufacturing and supply of steel wires, plastic pipes and plastic films which find applications in industries like oil & gas, power, environment, civil, energy, automobile, and infrastructure.
