According to reports from CNBC TV18 and Business Standard, the company's consolidated net profit more than doubled year-on-year to ₹151 crore in Q1FY27, compared with ₹70 crore in the June quarter of FY26. This represents a significant improvement in profitability for the automation company, with the company achieving consolidated net profit of ₹151 crore for the quarter ended June. The latest data from Business Standard confirms the net profit rose 116.31% to ₹150.55 crore in Q1FY27, demonstrating the company's strong operational performance. Profit before tax (PBT) soared 114.51% YoY to ₹201.02 crore in Q1FY27, indicating robust pre-tax profitability across all segments.
The company's revenue from operations rose 36.3% YoY to ₹2,431.6 crore in Q1FY27, compared with ₹1,784 crore in the corresponding quarter last year (Q1FY26), as reported by CNBC TV18. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) climbed 45% annually to ₹384 crore in Q1FY27 from ₹265 crore a year ago. The EBITDA margin expanded to 15.8% in Q1FY27, from 15% in Q1FY26, reflecting improved profitability and operational efficiency. According to Business Standard, the operating profit margin (OPM) improved to 15.79% in Q1FY27 from 14.85% in Q1FY26, indicating enhanced operational leverage and cost management. Total expenses increased 33.61% YoY to ₹2,254.26 crore, with cost of sales and services rising 41.76% YoY to ₹1,457.74 crore and employee benefit expenses increasing 14.77% YoY to ₹165.70 crore. Finance costs also climbed 29.95% YoY to ₹86.16 crore during the quarter.
The company demonstrated strong performance across all business segments, with revenue from the powertrain business increasing 25.41% YoY to ₹622.55 crore. The aluminium products segment, the company's largest contributor, reported a 38.09% YoY rise in revenue to ₹1,479.34 crore. The industrial and engineering segment posted a robust 54.42% YoY growth to ₹329.69 crore, as reported by Business Standard. Shares surged as much as 6.5% after the company reported a rise in earnings for the quarter ended June, with the stock having made an intraday high above ₹10,000 after the results announcement. Shares are trading 5% higher at ₹9,750, with the stock up 26% so far this year. The company noted that its existing aluminium products capacity is operating at around 85% utilisation, and the Hosur location will improve proximity to key customers, enhance logistics and support future growth.
In a significant strategic move, Craftsman Automation's board has approved the establishment of a new manufacturing facility at Hosur, Tamil Nadu, to expand capacity in its aluminium products division. The proposed project will be executed in two phases with an estimated investment of ₹250 crore, with ₹100 crore allocated for Phase I and ₹150 crore for Phase II. According to CNBC TV18, the facility is expected to be commissioned within 6-8 months, subject to regulatory approvals, and will be funded largely through term loans along with internal accruals. The company stated that the new plant will cater to incremental demand from automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in southern India. During the quarter ended June 30, 2026, Craftsman Automation successfully raised ₹2,000 crore through a Qualified Institutions Placement (QIP) at an issue price of ₹8,700 per share. The company issued 22,98,850 equity shares of face value ₹5 each through the QIP, with the proceeds primarily intended for repayment or pre-payment of certain borrowings and general corporate purposes. As per the company's filing, a part of the proceeds were utilised till the end of the quarter towards these objectives, with the balance proceeds to be utilised in subsequent periods. This strategic funding will support the company's expansion plans and strengthen its financial position for future growth initiatives.
