Container Corporation of India Limited announced on Wednesday, April 15, that it has awarded a ₹175.36 crore contract (excluding GST) to Braithwaite & Co Ltd for the manufacture and supply of nine BLSS (Spine Car) rakes. According to reports from CNBC TV18, the contract will be executed on a turnkey basis, with supplies scheduled to be completed by February 28, 2027. The delivery plan includes a minimum supply of two rakes per month over the execution period. CONCOR has clarified that the order has been awarded to a domestic entity and does not fall under related party transactions, with promoters or group companies having no interest in the awarded entity.
As reported by CNBC TV18, the contract pertains to strengthening rail logistics infrastructure through the addition of specialized container rakes. (VISL) for the development of a Container Freight Station (CFS) near the upcoming Vizhinjam International Seaport.
