According to reports from The Economic Times, Coforge shares have experienced a remarkable resurgence, doubling since March and significantly outperforming its IT sector peers. The stock rallied more than 100% in less than six months from a 52-week low in March to hit a fresh 52-week high of ₹2,021 apiece on August 31. While artificial intelligence worries and inflationary pressures kept IT investors on edge, Coforge shares continued to deliver strong returns for shareholders despite the broader sector challenges. However, recent market volatility has created headwinds, with the stock experiencing intraday declines as broader IT sector pressures mount.
As reported by The Economic Times, the stock plunged more than 28% in February alone during the AI-driven selloff that affected Dalal Street's IT stocks. The shares hit a 52-week low of ₹1,008 apiece on March 17, 2026, but recovered strongly as the company announced impressive growth in net profit and revenue during Q1. While other IT stocks have partially recovered, most still have a long way to go, with Oracle Financial Services Software recovering 93% and Persistent Systems recovering 33% from their 52-week lows. The recent market decline has particularly impacted mid-cap IT players, with Coforge and Mphasis declining over 3% and 2% respectively, as broader sector pressures intensify.
According to The Economic Times, CEO Sudhir Singh noted that the narrative of AI-led deflation is real in the managed services book of business, but the company is seeing AI-led demand tailwinds. He emphasized that organizations pivoting hard and with speed can more than offset AI deflation due to demand. CLSA highlighted that Q1 earnings were mixed for Indian IT and global peers, but noted that basic Excel math implies AI volumes could supersede deflation by FY30, taking USD revenue growth from low to mid-single digits. The company's strategic positioning continues to support its outperformance despite current sector headwinds.
As reported by The Economic Times, Jefferies added Infosys and increased its weight in Coforge in its model portfolio in July. Axis Direct maintains a 'Buy' call on the stock, remaining positive towards the company's long-term growth outlook. ICICI Securities estimates that Coforge, along with LTIMindtree, Mphasis, Persistent Systems and Hexaware, are estimated to capture 51% of incremental organic revenue in FY27, up from 46% in FY26. The share of industry leaders TCS, Infosys, HCLTech, Wipro and Tech Mahindra is expected to fall to 48% from 53%. Despite current market pressures, analysts remain selective in their IT stock recommendations, with Kotak Securities maintaining positive outlook on Coforge and Mphasis among mid-caps, while recommending Infosys, TCS and Tech Mahindra in the large-cap space.
According to The Economic Times, in the longer term, Coforge shares have delivered positive returns of 72% in three years and 86% in five years. The company has a market capitalization of more than ₹85,448 crore. CLSA reiterated its 'High Conviction Outperform' rating on Coforge and Persistent Systems, citing their better position to take advantage of tectonic changes with good quality management teams and execution capabilities. Despite recent market volatility, the company's strong fundamentals and strategic positioning continue to support its long-term growth prospects in the evolving IT landscape.
