BTIG, a U.S. Bancorp company, has appointed Mangesh Ghogre as a managing director in its Industrials Investment Banking group. According to reports from The Economic Times, Ghogre will focus on metals and mining coverage for the firm's clients. The appointment was announced on Wednesday as part of BTIG's continued expansion in the industrials sector, with Ghogre bringing more than 20 years of investment banking experience across the US and Asia to his new role.
Ghogre brings extensive experience from both developed and Asian capital markets, including more than two decades of global investment banking experience. As reported by The Economic Times, he previously served as a managing director at ThinkEquity, where he provided equity capital markets coverage to U.S. and Canadian metals, mining and industrial companies. He also founded One Capita Advisors, an advisory firm that provided capital-raising and financial advisory services to U.S. corporates across the industrials sector. His background spans both developed and Asian capital markets and includes experience managing senior corporate relationships across metals, mining and minerals sectors.
Earlier in his career, Ghogre served as regional head of Equity Capital Markets for Asia at Nomura, where he led initial public offerings, follow-on offerings and block trades. According to The Economic Times, he began his investment banking career in Equity Capital Markets at HSBC in Asia. His extensive experience in building and managing senior client relationships in the metals, mining and minerals sectors positions him well for his new role at BTIG, where he will work with metals, mining and minerals companies on capital raising, strategic transactions and other financing needs.
BTIG's Investment Banking and Capital Markets groups now advise companies and engage institutional investors across mergers and acquisitions and a range of financing structures. As reported by The Economic Times, the firm's capabilities include IPOs and follow-on offerings, at-the-market programs, SPAC transactions, private placements and PIPEs, convertible securities, debt and loans, share buybacks and other liquidity solutions. The platform also works on venture capital and private equity transactions, giving bankers several potential financing channels for companies at different stages of development. This flexibility can be particularly relevant in metals and mining, where capital requirements can vary significantly between exploration, project development and established production businesses.
Jon Dever, head of Investment Banking at U.S. Bancorp | BTIG, stated that Ghogre brings deep knowledge of the metals and mining landscape and a strong background advising companies on strategic initiatives and financing solutions. According to The Economic Times, the appointment will broaden the firm's ability to support clients across the sector, with Ghogre positioned to originate metals and mining relationships while connecting clients with the firm's broader financing, M&A and institutional investor capabilities. The hire provides continuity between sector coverage and transaction execution, adding an entrepreneurial advisory background to his career that has also included senior positions at large global financial institutions.
