According to latest regulatory filings, BSE delivered exceptional year-on-year growth in Q2 FY27, with consolidated net profit surging 45% to ₹809 crore from ₹558 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue from operations grew robustly by 34% to ₹1,433 crore from ₹1,068 crore year-on-year, demonstrating the company's strong operational performance and market position. The growth was primarily aided by increased activity in the exchange's equity derivatives segment, which represents one of BSE's key revenue drivers. This exceptional year-on-year performance showcases the company's resilience and underlying growth momentum, despite some sequential quarterly challenges.
According to latest ET Now reports, BSE's Q2 FY27 performance showed significant sequential decline across key metrics. Consolidated net profit fell 7.4% quarter-on-quarter to ₹809 crore from ₹874 crore in Q1 FY27, while revenue from operations declined 8.5% to ₹1,433 crore from ₹1,566 crore in the previous quarter. According to BSE's latest regulatory filings, the exchange registered a 50% increase in average daily turnover (ADT) in derivatives (futures and options), which is a key measure of a stock exchange's income calculated on the basis of premiums paid by traders. This represents a significant improvement from the previous quarter's challenges, when average daily premium turnover in equity derivatives had declined 23.9% to ₹2,25,307 million in Q2 FY27. The recovery in derivatives trading activity was reflected in segment revenue, with equity derivatives revenue falling 17.6% sequentially to ₹9,519 million in Q2 FY27 from ₹11,550 million in Q1 FY27, though the growth in ADT indicates improving market participation and trading volumes.
For the first half of FY27, BSE reported consolidated net profit of ₹1,683 crore against ₹1,083 crore in the corresponding period last year, with revenue from operations rising to ₹2,999 crore from ₹2,026 crore. This demonstrates the company's ability to maintain strong year-on-year growth despite the sequential quarterly challenges. The half-year performance reflects the company's resilience and underlying growth momentum, with the company maintaining robust overall financial performance despite movements in other income and expenses during the quarter.
