
Britannia Industries shares declined as much as 5% to touch an intraday low of ₹5,524 apiece on Friday, May 8, as the company's March quarter earnings failed to impress market investors. According to reports from The Economic Times, the stock was trading at ₹5,619.30 per share on the National Stock Exchange at 10:30 AM, declining 3.35%. The bakery food company has experienced significant pressure throughout the year, with shares losing nearly 7% from the beginning of 2026 and 8.5% over the past six months. The company maintains a market capitalisation of ₹1.35 lakh crore.
Britannia reported a consolidated net profit of ₹678 crore in the fourth quarter of financial year 2025-26 (Q4 FY26), registering a growth of 21% from ₹560 crore during the same period last year. As reported by The Economic Times, the company's revenue from operations increased 6.5% to ₹4,719 crore compared to ₹4,432 crore in the year-ago period. The company posted a jump in operational performance with operating profit (EBITDA) rising 6% to ₹853 crore from ₹805 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal year. However, the operating profit margin, also known as EBITDA margin, fell marginally to 18.08% from 18.16% in the corresponding period last year.
The bakery food company's board of directors has recommended a final dividend of ₹90.50 per equity share (face value ₹1 each) for the financial year ended March 31, 2026, subject to shareholder approval at the AGM. According to The Economic Times, the company will close its Register of Members from August 1 to August 7, 2026 (both days inclusive), and has fixed July 31, 2026 as the record date to determine shareholders eligible for the AGM and the final dividend. The company had touched its one-year high of ₹6,336 apiece on September 4, 2026, while its 52-week low of ₹5,298 was hit on August 14, 2025.
