For the first half of the fiscal year, BMW Industries demonstrated consistent growth momentum with net profit rising 34.3% to ₹40.74 crore from ₹30.35 crore a year ago. As reported by The Economic Times, total income increased 23.8% to ₹372.10 crore for the six-month period, reflecting the company's operational resilience across all three core segments. A key development was the commissioning of the first phase of the greenfield downstream steel complex at Bokaro in Jharkhand, with the colour coating line receiving its consent to operate on October 5. According to Chairman Ram Gopal Bansal, this marked the company's entry into the colour-coated steel segment. As of September 30, ₹516.4 crore had been deployed for the greenfield expansion, comprising ₹208.9 crore from internal accruals and ₹307.5 crore through debt, with around ₹60 crore capitalised towards the first phase of the colour coating line. Bansal attributed the quarterly performance to healthy growth across conversion segments and progress on expansion initiatives, with the legacy business continuing to demonstrate operational resilience across all three core segments.
Looking ahead, BMW Industries plans to focus on improving capacity utilisation and ramping up the new Bokaro facilities. The company operates through a joint venture with SAIL at Bokaro and manufacturing units in West Bengal and Jharkhand. Bansal emphasized that the legacy business continues to demonstrate operational resilience across all three core segments, positioning the company for continued growth in the steel processing industry, with the company now entering the colour-coated steel segment through its new Bokaro operations.
