Blue Dart Express delivered robust second-quarter FY27 results on Friday, November 6, with consolidated net profit surging 28% year-on-year to ₹104 crore, compared with ₹81.38 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. According to reports from CNBC TV18, revenue from operations grew 14.5% to ₹1,774 crore in Q2, up from ₹1,549 crore a year ago. The company's EBITDA increased 13.9% to ₹287 crore, compared with ₹252 crore in the year-ago period, though EBITDA margin contracted slightly by 9 basis points to 16.17% from 16.26% in the previous year's Q2.
While the company showed strong top-line growth, EBITDA margin declined by 9 basis points to 16.17% compared with 16.26% in the corresponding quarter last year. As reported by CNBC TV18, this margin compression occurred despite the significant revenue expansion, with EBITDA growing at a slower pace of 13.9% compared to revenue's 14.5% growth. The company attributed its quarterly performance to an improved product mix, better yield realisation, and continued service optimisation. The divergence between robust top-line growth and slight margin contraction suggests that non-operating factors or lower tax provisions may have contributed disproportionately to the bottom-line improvement relative to operational performance.
The company's standalone trade receivables rose to ₹104.96 crore as of September 30, 2026, from ₹91.58 crore as of March 31, 2026. Consolidated cash and cash equivalents decreased to ₹12.72 crore from ₹23.80 crore over the same period, reflecting significant capital expenditure and lease liability payments during the half-year. Blue Dart disbursed a final dividend of ₹25 per share for FY26 during the quarter, aggregating to ₹59.32 crore. The company also entered into strategic partnerships post-quarter to explore new avenues for parcel movement and deepen reach into rural India.
Balfour Manuel, Managing Director of Blue Dart Express, highlighted the significance of the quarterly performance in the company's exchange filing. According to CNBC TV18, Manuel stated that the performance marks a significant milestone reflecting the strength of business fundamentals and disciplined management approach. He emphasized that the financial performance was supported by focus on operational productivity and effective utilisation of the integrated network, with the company's strategic initiatives contributing to enhanced service capabilities.
