
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has announced that India Ratings and Research has upgraded the rating of the company's long-term bank loan facilities to IND AA; Stable from IND AA-; Positive. According to reports from Business Standard, this upgrade reflects an improvement in the company's creditworthiness assessment by the rating agency. The upgrade encompasses BHEL's total bank loan facilities valued at ₹80,000 crores under the new 'IND AA / Stable' long-term rating.
The rating on short-term bank facilities and commercial paper has been reaffirmed at IND A1+ by India Ratings and Research. As reported by Business Standard, this reaffirmation indicates that the rating agency maintains its positive assessment of BHEL's short-term creditworthiness, providing stability in the company's overall credit profile. The agency has confirmed BHEL's Commercial Paper / Unsecured Loan facilities amounting to ₹5,000 crores at the highest short-term rating of 'IND A1+'.
The upgrade in credit ratings for long-term bank facilities is expected to enhance BHEL's access to financing and improve its borrowing costs in the financial markets.
