
Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has secured additional orders worth ₹541 crore since its last disclosure on July 31, 2026. According to a stock exchange filing, the orders include communication equipment, electro-optics, ammunition fuzes, Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) systems, spares and services. The Navratna defence public sector undertaking continues to strengthen its order book position in the defence sector. This latest order addition follows the ₹847 crore worth of orders secured on July 31, 2026, which included electro optics, security operation centre, seekers, components, spares, services and more.
BEL reported robust financial results for the June quarter, with consolidated net profit rising 9% year-on-year to ₹1,054.34 crore compared to ₹969.91 crore in the same period last year. Revenue from core operations surged 25% YoY to ₹5,546.98 crore in the June quarter, compared with ₹4,439.74 crore in the same period a year earlier. However, cost of materials increased significantly by 55% year-on-year to ₹3,041.23 crore from ₹1,960.84 crore, reflecting higher input costs. The company's profit before tax increased 9% year-on-year to ₹1,403 crore. As per Business Standard, the company also reported standalone net profit of ₹1,048.33 crore for Q1 FY27, representing an 8.17% year-on-year increase compared to ₹969.13 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
The board approved a proposal to increase the company's authorised share capital from ₹750 crore to ₹1,000 crore by increasing the number of equity shares of face value ₹1 each from 750 crore to 1,000 crore. As reported by CNBC-TV18, the proposal is subject to shareholders' approval at the upcoming annual general meeting. This expansion reflects the company's growth trajectory and capital requirements for future expansion.
Shares of Bharat Electronics Ltd closed at ₹402.95 on the BSE, shedding 0.16% following the results announcement. According to Business Standard, the counter shed 0.16% to ₹402.95 on the BSE. BEL has a total market capitalisation of ₹2.96 lakh crore as of August 10, 2026. However, the stock has shown mixed performance with a 1.4% gain from the beginning of the year, but has slipped 3% over the past month and fallen 8% over a six-month period. The stock hit a 52-week high of ₹473.45 on March 6, 2026, and a 52-week low of ₹361.20 on August 28, 2025.
