Bajel Projects Ltd has secured a ₹200–₹300 crore major EPC order for a 400kV transmission line project under the Bellary–Davanagere RE evacuation scheme, as reported by CNBC TV18. The contract was awarded by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited through its SPV, Bellary Davanagere Power Transmission Ltd. The project involves construction of a 400kV (Quad) double-circuit transmission line under the TL-01 package of the Bellary–Davanagere 2nd 400kV line scheme.
According to CNBC TV18, the project features a 21-month execution timeline from the date of issuance of the Notification of Award. The transmission line spans approximately 70 km and connects Bellary Substation to Davanagere Substation. The contract falls in the ₹200–₹300 crore category, representing a significant infrastructure investment in Karnataka's power transmission network.
As reported by CNBC TV18, the Bellary–Davanagere corridor serves as a central transmission system for evacuation of renewable power from critical solar and wind zones in Karnataka. The project is part of a renewable energy evacuation system designed to integrate 0.25 GW at Davanagere and 2.75 GW at Bellary into the national grid. The order reinforces Bajel Projects' commitment to building transmission infrastructure supporting India's energy transition priorities.
Rajesh Ganesh, Managing Director and CEO of Bajel Projects Limited, described the order win as a strong endorsement of Bajel's execution credentials in high-voltage transmission, according to CNBC TV18. He emphasized the company's continued alignment with India's energy transition priorities and commitment to building transmission infrastructure to the highest standards of safety and quality.
According to CNBC TV18, shares of Bajel Projects Ltd ended at ₹169.95, up by ₹2.35, or 1.40% on the BSE following the announcement. The company confirmed that neither the promoter, promoter group, nor group companies have any interest in the awarding entity, ensuring no promoter or related-party involvement in the contract award.
