Ambuja Neotia Healthcare Venture Ltd (ANHVL) has announced a significant expansion plan involving an investment of around ₹2,200 crore to expand its healthcare footprint across eastern India over the next four to five years. According to reports from The Hindu BusinessLine, Managing Director Parthiv Neotia revealed this strategic investment, marking a substantial commitment to the company's growth trajectory in the region. The healthcare arm of the Ambuja Neotia Group announced this comprehensive expansion to strengthen its position in eastern India's healthcare market, with the company currently operating four healthcare facilities with 700 beds across West Bengal and Assam.
The expansion will add close to 1,800 beds to ANHVL's existing capacity, bringing the total bed strength to 2,500 beds across the network. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, the company currently operates four healthcare facilities with 700 beds in total. The new facilities will be strategically located across key growth corridors identified by the company. Neotia emphasized that the expansion aims to bring advanced clinical expertise and comprehensive maternal, neonatal, and paediatric care closer to local families, reducing the need for patients to travel long distances. The group is planning to add around 1,800 beds across eight upcoming healthcare facilities to increase total number of beds to around 2,500 in the next four to five years.
A significant component of the expansion involves a ₹150 crore investment to establish a 120-bed woman and child care facility in Howrah under the Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Child Care Centre network. According to The Hindu BusinessLine, this facility is expected to become operational by April 2029. The company has identified Howrah as a key growth corridor with growing demand for specialized women and child healthcare services. The new centre aims to provide advanced clinical expertise and comprehensive maternal, neonatal, and paediatric care closer to local families, addressing the growing need for specialized healthcare services in the region. For its upcoming woman and child care facility in West Bengal's Durgapur, ANHVL has partnered with Amit Metaliks, which will provide land and construct the facility. "This ₹100-crore project is under construction. We expect to start the facility in the next 18 months," Neotia said, adding that Amit Metaliks operates in steel, mining, and infrastructure sectors.
To enhance capital efficiency, ANHVL is adopting an asset-light model for several upcoming projects, including facilities in Raipur, Guwahati, and Durgapur. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, in Durgapur, the company has partnered with Amit Metaliks to build a woman and child care hospital, where Amit Metaliks will provide land and infrastructure while ANHVL will manage operations. The Raipur facility, also a specialized woman and child care centre, is scheduled to launch by the end of this year. This strategic approach allows the company to focus on its core competencies while leveraging existing infrastructure and local partnerships. "From a cash flow point of view, this model is better. We are open to finding partners. We are actively looking at many of the regional markets in the East," the MD added, indicating the group would explore this model for future projects.
ANHVL currently operates four healthcare facilities and has eight additional projects under development, with two more projects having been firmed up though they will take time to materialize. According to The Hindu BusinessLine, the company's pipeline includes a multispeciality hospital in Guwahati, another facility in Taratala (Kolkata), a multispeciality hospital in New Town (Kolkata), along with the woman and child care centres in Howrah, Durgapur, and Raipur.
