Aerospace and defence company Apollo Micro Systems Ltd (AMSL) has secured orders worth ₹80.4 crore from defence PSUs, state governments and private industries, according to an exchange filing on Monday. The company provides technology-based solutions for sectors including infrastructure, transportation, aerospace and defence. Earlier, AMSL received a Make-II Prototype Sanction Order (PSO) from the Indian Navy, demonstrating continued government confidence in the company's defence capabilities.
Shares of AMSL traded in the red amid broad-based selling, opening at ₹394 on the BSE, up ₹1.45 or 0.36 percent from its previous close of ₹392.55. Despite the positive opening, the stock declined during the trading session as broader market sentiment remained weak. The stock opened in the green even as benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty declined in early trade amid rising crude oil prices and persistent geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
The benchmark Sensex dropped by 281 points, or 0.36 percent to settle at 77,728.16, while the broader Nifty fell for the fifth straight session on Monday. During the day, the Sensex dropped 555.5 points, or 0.71 percent to 77,453.75. The Nifty declined 78.35 points, or 0.32 percent to end at 24,287.65, taking losses to the fifth consecutive day. The decline was attributed to selling in IT, FMCG, and telecom shares amid rising crude oil prices and persistent geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
