Shares of Allcargo Logistics surged over 14% in intraday trade on Friday, August 21, marking the third consecutive day of gains for the Mumbai-based logistics company. According to reports from CNBC TV18, this week's 20% surge represents the best performance since the company began trading adjusted for the demerger of its International Supply Chain (ISC) business called Allcargo Global, which began trading as a separate entity since November 2025. The stock has now gained nearly 50% for the month of August, positioning it to potentially achieve its best month on record if current gains continue.
The recent surge builds on a nearly 20% rise earlier this month when the company reported strong earnings for the quarter ended June 2026. As reported by CNBC TV18, Allcargo's standalone revenue from operations during the June quarter rose 11.2% to ₹546 crore, up from ₹491 crore in the year-ago period, while total income increased 12.9% to ₹560 crore from ₹496 crore a year earlier. The company also reported a dividend yield of 14% as of fiscal year 2026, compared with 13% in fiscal 2025 and 10% in fiscal 2024.
The company underwent significant leadership changes earlier this month when Shashi Kiran Shetty stepped down as managing director and chairman, with Dinesh Kumar Lal replacing him in the role. According to CNBC TV18, Allcargo was founded by Shashi Kiran Shetty in 1989 and commenced operations in 1994 as a cargo-handling operator at Jawaharlal Nehru Port, Mumbai, initially working as a customs house agent and freight forwarder. The company has expanded through strategic acquisitions, including American shipping company Econocaribe in 2013 and acquiring a majority stake in Netherlands-based FCL Marine Agencies the following year.
As reported by CNBC TV18, among public shareholders, Tata Mutual Fund holds the only domestic mutual fund stake at 1.14%, while Foreign Portfolio Investors have a 6.56% stake in the company at the end of the June quarter. Over 3 lakh small retail shareholders with authorized share capital of up to ₹2 lakh hold a 29.45% stake in the company at the end of the June quarter. The stock was trading at ₹12.01, representing a 14% gain for the day.
