Aditya Infotech shares have recovered 4% in the past two trading sessions following the announcement of fresh equity fundraising plans to expand capacity. According to The Economic Times, the stock has reduced the fall to 11% since August 12 when the company declared sequentially weaker June quarter performance. The recovery demonstrates strong investor confidence in the company's expansion strategy, with the latest Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) worth ₹1,500 crore to increase capacity looking particularly timely given current capacity utilisation of 85-90%. The proposed fundraise may be undertaken through one or more permissible modes, including a public issue, Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) or a combination of these methods, subject to approval from shareholders and other regulatory and statutory authorities.
According to the latest exchange filing dated August 19, 2026, Aditya Infotech's board of directors approved a proposal to raise up to ₹1,500 crore through the issuance of equity shares. The company stated that the fundraise may be undertaken through one or more permissible modes, including a public issue, Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) or a combination of these methods, subject to approval from shareholders and other regulatory and statutory authorities. The proposed securities may be issued in one or more tranches at such prices as may be permitted under applicable laws. As reported by The Economic Times, the board also approved initiating the process for obtaining shareholders' approval through a postal ballot and approved the constitution of a committee of directors to oversee and undertake necessary actions related to the proposed fund raising.
The latest QIP announcement comes at an opportune time as the company grapples with elevated electronic component prices that are squeezing profits. According to The Economic Times, the company has raised product prices by 15-20%, which was lower than the FY27 indicative raise of 25%. Efforts to source components locally would take two-three quarters to affect the financials meaningfully. The current capacity utilisation of 85-90% makes the ₹1,500 crore fundraise particularly strategic for improving revenue visibility amid sustained demand. Analysts have issued a 'buy' call on the stock with a 10-20% upside from Friday's closing price of ₹3,476.3, reflecting confidence in the company's expansion strategy.
According to Business Standard, Aditya Infotech reported revenue of ₹1,402.42 crore in Q1 FY27, up 89.51% YoY, driven by strong traction for its CP PLUS brand. IP products accounted for around 79% of the CP PLUS portfolio. The company's consolidated net profit surged 332.48% to ₹142.2 crore on the 89.51% jump in net sales. The company's gross margin rose 810 bps YoY to 30.8%, while EBITDA jumped 220% YoY to ₹207.8 crore, with margins improving to 14.8%. Adjusted PAT surged 332.5% YoY to ₹142.2 crore, helped by lower finance costs and improved cost efficiencies.
The company's portfolio consists of cameras, video recorders, biometric and access control products, and mobile surveillance solutions. A major growth trigger has been the Standardisation Testing and Quality Certification (STQC) norms, which came into effect in April 2025, affecting the sale of products from Chinese companies in IP-driven surveillance systems. According to The Economic Times, the market share of large, global companies which failed to comply with the norms dropped to over 16% in FY26 from 27% in the previous year. In FY26, Aditya Infotech's revenue grew by 35.6% to ₹4,220.8 crore while EBITDA grew by 124% to ₹579 crore and net profit shot up by 165.7% to ₹492.7 crore. The company's market cap has shot up to ₹41,124 crore from ₹7,900 crore at its IPO last July, with the price-earnings multiple expanding to 86 from 68 during this period.
