Adani Enterprises has agreed to pay $275 million to settle allegations related to US sanctions violations involving Iran-linked LPG shipments. According to the latest disclosure, the settlement was officially announced by OFAC through an enforcement release dated May 18, 2026, with the agreement dated May 14, 2026. The company stated that the amount was mitigated from the maximum statutory penalty of around $384.21 million, with the reduction considered due to factors including Adani Enterprises not receiving any penalty notice or finding of violation from OFAC during the previous five years, and the LPG business contributing less than 1.5% of the company's consolidated revenue for 2025. The settlement does not amount to a finding of guilt or wrongdoing and closes all related liabilities.
Adani Enterprises shares gained 1.72% to ₹2,736 on Tuesday following the settlement announcement, despite mixed broader market sentiment. Indian equity benchmark indices opened marginally higher, with the benchmark Nifty 50 index rising 0.04% to trade at 23,659.75 during the session. The positive market response reflects investor relief over the resolution of the US sanctions matter, with the company's substantial cooperation and implementation of remedial measures being recognized by OFAC.
