According to reports from CNBC TV18 and latest exchange filings, Adani Enterprises Ltd and Jabil Inc. have signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding to establish a 50:50 joint venture to manufacture and assemble artificial intelligence and data centre equipment in India. The proposed venture aims to build a multi-gigawatt AI infrastructure platform with plans to manufacture AI racks, servers, storage and networking equipment, along with power distribution units, liquid-cooling systems and transformers. As per the latest filing, the JV would also provide installation and commissioning services to support the complete data centre ecosystem. The MoU comes after the June 2026 announcement of Adani Group and Jabil's intent to establish a strategic alliance to develop an AI and data centre infrastructure manufacturing ecosystem in India. The joint venture remains subject to execution of definitive agreements, receipt of applicable approvals and satisfaction of customary conditions.
As reported by CNBC TV18 and confirmed in the latest exchange filing, India's data centre capacity is projected to reach 5-8 gigawatts by 2030, driven by AI adoption, cloud expansion and data localisation. The companies estimate the global market opportunity at more than $3 trillion over the next seven years, driven by investment in AI computing infrastructure. Planned hyperscaler spending across data centre, cloud and AI ecosystems is expected to exceed $50 billion, with the JV specifically targeting India's accelerating digital infrastructure demand. The venture is expected to build AI racks at a multi-gigawatt scale, catering to computing infrastructure with a combined power capacity of several gigawatts. The proposed venture would provide a manufacturing base in India to serve domestic demand and support exports, with the companies stating the venture would serve hyperscalers, data centre operators, cloud service providers and enterprises.
According to CNBC TV18 and the latest filing, Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group, stated that the AI revolution will demand an entirely new industrial architecture where energy, hyperscale infrastructure, advanced computing and precision manufacturing converge. The proposed joint venture aligns with Adani Group's $100 billion commitment to develop 5 GW of green-energy-powered, hyperscale AI-ready data centres by 2035. For Jabil Inc., which reported $36 billion in revenue in fiscal year 2026, the venture would expand its engineering and manufacturing footprint in India's data centre market. As per the latest filing, the partnership combines Jabil's world-class engineering and manufacturing capabilities with Adani's integrated strengths in energy, infrastructure and data centres to build the physical backbone of the global AI economy. Mike Dastoor, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Jabil Inc., emphasized that the signing marks a strategic step towards establishing a scaled AI infrastructure manufacturing platform in India, a market they believe will become increasingly important for both domestic and global AI infrastructure demand.
