Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma emphasized that transparency in mining operations, policy reforms, and infrastructure development remain top priorities of the Rajasthan government as the state seeks to position itself as a major hub for critical minerals and mining investment. Speaking at a high-level review meeting of the mines and coal department at the chief minister's residence, Sharma directed officials to ensure regular coordination meetings with the Centre so that mining-related projects and clearances are completed within stipulated timelines. Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy was also present at the meeting, where detailed discussions were held on matters related to the energy sector, including the Coal India-Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited joint venture, solar energy projects, auction of critical mineral blocks, District Mineral Foundation funds, environmental and forest clearances, speedy operationalisation of mineral blocks, and ongoing geological and mineral exploration activities in the state.
Union Minister for Mines and Coal G. Kishan Reddy announced that Rajasthan possesses vast reserves of critical minerals and has the potential to meet growing demand from strategic sectors including defence, energy, agriculture, solar power, and automobiles. The Chief Minister directed officials to accelerate work related to the Siwana Ring Complex, spread across nearly 725 square kilometres in Barmer and Balotra districts. As reported by SocialNews.XYZ, the region comprises circular and semi-circular igneous rocks and Rare Earth Elements and Heavy Rare Earth Elements have been identified in the Siwana Ring Complex and Siwana Granite formations. Sharma instructed the Mines Department and concerned District Collectors to coordinate with Central Government officials to accelerate work on the project, urging the Central Government to share information regarding sites identified and explored by the Geological Survey of India within the state. According to Sharma, the region is strategically important to the modern technology and clean energy sectors.
