This represents a significant recovery from the April 13 dip of ₹15,246 for 24K gold, with the sharp rebound signaling strong bullish momentum after recent volatility. The 24K rate had recovered from ₹14,984 on April 7 to ₹15,148 on April 9 and further to ₹15,300 on April 10, demonstrating sustained upward momentum across all gold categories. In the domestic market, MCX near-month futures were trading flat at ₹1,54,854 per 10 grams, while in the intraday session it reached ₹1,55,048, marking the highest level since 18 March. The yellow metal has ended the last three weeks higher, helping it recover ₹25,203 from its March lows, though it remains ₹25,989 below its record high of ₹1,80,779 attained in late January.
Gold futures showed mixed performance on Wednesday, with MCX June 5 contract opening with a fall of ₹60 to ₹1,54,757 per 10 grams against the previous close of ₹1,54,817. The contract later dipped further to touch an intraday low of ₹1,54,404, a fall of ₹413 or 0.26%, before recovering to trade at ₹1,54,704 with a fall of ₹113 or 0.07%. According to India TV News, the August 2026 contract was down by ₹92 or 0.06% to trade at ₹1,54,725 per 10 grams in business turnover of 1,016 lots. The decline was attributed to the US dollar regaining strength amid hopes of another round of peace talks between the United States and Iran. Latest trading data shows domestic futures gold traded 0.15 percent lower at ₹1,54,580 per 10 grams from its previous close, while silver edged 0.43 percent down to ₹2,51,671 per kilogram for 999 purity. As per LKP Securities, gold traded with minor losses amid some profit-taking after the recent positive momentum, with markets remaining cautious amid mixed signals from US-Iran talks where optimism is balanced by the risk of failure.

In international markets, Comex gold futures dropped by $46 per troy ounce to an intraday low of $4,808 after hitting a one-month high of $4,895, while silver futures fell $1.23 to the day's low of $78.3. The US Dollar Index further drifted lower, falling to 98 against a basket of currencies, making greenback-priced bullion more affordable for holders of other currencies.

The rally has helped the white metal recover ₹53,197 from its March lows, yet the highly volatile metal is still down by ₹1,67,347 from its record peak of ₹4,20,048. Experts noted resistance at ₹2,60,000-₹2,63,000, with further upside potential towards ₹2,68,000-₹2,70,000, while a fall below ₹2,48,000 could lead to a corrective move towards ₹2,44,000-₹2,40,000.
