According to reports from Business Standard, the branch was inaugurated by Rajneesh Karnatak, managing director and chief executive officer of the bank, in the presence of Executive Director P R Rajagopal and other senior executives. The branch is strategically located at Nariman Point to serve as a specialized hub for partnership-led financing operations.
The SBB will house co-lending, pool buyouts, Trade Receivables Discounting System (TReDS), and supply chain finance operations under one roof to improve efficiency and risk oversight. As reported by Business Standard, this consolidation aims to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen credit monitoring, and improve underwriting agility across these business segments. Ravi Shankar, General Manager, Digital Lending Department, BOI, highlighted the strategic significance of the SBB launch, stating that "The opening of SBB is a significant step towards strengthening our partnership-led lending ecosystem. By bringing these strategic business segments under a dedicated branch, we aim to enhance scalability, portfolio monitoring and operational efficiency while supporting the evolving financing requirements of the corporates."
