
Andhra Pradesh Government and Punjab National Bank on Thursday signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish India's First Bank-Led Quantum Finance Hub at Amaravati Quantum Valley. According to latest reports, Shri Ashok Chandra, MD & CEO of PNB, inaugurated the hub on the occasion, making Punjab National Bank the first bank in India to partner with a State Government to establish a dedicated Quantum Finance Hub for the banking sector. The MoU was exchanged in the august presence of Hon'ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu, reaffirming the shared commitment of both organizations to foster innovation, research, talent development, and the adoption of next-generation technologies in India's banking and financial services sector.
The Quantum Finance Hub will serve as a collaborative platform focusing on cybersecurity enhancement, fraud detection, operational optimization, and customer experience improvement. According to Punjab National Bank's MD & CEO Ashok Chandra, the bank aims to harness these technologies to strengthen cybersecurity, enhance operational efficiency, and prepare for future digital banking requirements. He stated that Amaravati Quantum Valley is the first of the many innovation ecosystems being developed in Amaravati as part of the grand vision to make Amaravati a global centre for deep technologies and innovation. The Chief Minister noted that the establishment of the PNB Quantum & AI Finance Innovation Hub is another important milestone in this journey, by bringing together government, industry, academia, startups, and the banking sector to develop practical solutions.
