Sumitomo Chemical India Limited (SCIL) is a subsidiary of Sumitomo Chemical Company Limited, Japan, engaged in manufacturing and selling household insecticides, agricultural pesticides, public health insecticides, and animal nutrition products. The company also produces technical grade pesticides and has indigenous R&D facilities. SCIL was incorporated in 2000 and became a public limited company in 2018. In 2019, it merged with Excel Crop Care Limited, acquiring subsidiaries in Tanzania and Belgium. SCIL's shares were listed on BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited in 2020. The company has expanded its manufacturing capacity, introduced new products, and commissioned a solar power plant for captive consumption. As of 2021, the promoters and promoter group hold 75% of the company's share capital, with 25% held by the public.
