Jaiprakash Power Ventures Limited is an Indian company engaged in thermal and hydro power generation, cement grinding, and captive coal mining. The company operates three power plants: a 400 MW hydro-electric plant in Uttarakhand, a 1320 MW thermal power plant in Madhya Pradesh, and a 500 MW thermal power plant in Madhya Pradesh. It also runs a 2 MTPA cement grinding unit in Madhya Pradesh and conducts captive coal mining operations at Amelia Coal Block. The company was incorporated in 1994 and has undergone several mergers and name changes. It is currently an associate company of Jaiprakash Associates Limited, which holds 29.74% of its shares.
